'Minao' is the pairing name for Mink/Aoba Seragaki from the Nitro Chiral visual novel Dramatical Murder. If you're reading this you probably already know who these two are but if you don't then be warned this page will have mentions of abuse, sexual assault and general NSFW comments as Dramatical Murder is an explicit boys love game.

I played Dramatical Murder for the first time around 2013-2014 when the english patch released. Before, in 2012, I had already known of the existance of the game through Tumblr. I was the most excited for Koujaku's route as I had seen spoilers of certain scenes with him. I loved Koujaku and Noiz's route, and I knew the walkthrough suggested that the next route I should do was Mink's. I was young, so I was shocked at how Mink treated Aoba. Even so, I thought Mink was so intriguing and I loved his design which was so different from other typical bishounen type characters in BL. For this reason, he quickly became my favorite of the four main routes. Of course, as anyone who was around Tumblr during those years likely knows, you could not like Mink without getting backlash. People would omit him from group fanarts and in part it did not help due to the fan translation team purposely making him sound meaner to Aoba in the English patch.



My love for them only grew when I played Re:connect. This is where Mink's reputation began to rise from the ground, as we find out why he did all those things to Aoba. Before Re:connect released it was hard to find love for Mink and fanart of Minao. There was still some prevalent dislike for Mink around, but Re:connect had at least given a lot of people a much better view of him thanks to him being much kinder to Aoba.

Around 2016, I stopped using Tumblr and stopped engaging with the Dramatical Murder fandom. Throughout the years I read some Minao fanfic here and there but nothing major. Cut to late 2024, I replay Dramatical Murder and fall in love with them once again. This time, as I am older, I realized I enjoy both the domestic, married relationship Mink and Aoba have in Re:connect and the Drama CD as well as the hate sex Mink has with Aoba's Desire. Seriously, Mink's bad ending sex scene with Desire in Re:connect is one of the hottest in the game.

Anyways I decided to make this website dedicated to them as I haven't encountered any shrines dedicated to Mink/Aoba. I really love them and I hope other fans of them see this website and like it too! And if you're not a fan, I hope this page at least helps some people understand why some of us love them so much.

My silly thoughts about them

Where to start? I love them so much. I love their size difference, the way Aoba looks when Mink holds him is *chefs kiss*. I love how their relationship developed in Re:connect. I've always thought that Mink would easily work, with some tweaking, as the true route or main route of the game. Mink has a connection to Toue just like Aoba, and like Aoba he is also connected to death and destruction. Mink is also the only one who realizes Desire exists and interacts with him in his route. I don't think Ren's route has to be omitted, but it could be incorporated somehow into Mink's.

Their dynamic in the first game is unequal. Mink uses Aoba as a tool to further his revenge against Toue, going as far as to physically abuse and rape him. None of their scenes in the first game are consensual, Aoba is either high on drugs or he is beaten and choked to get Desire to emerge. BUT they're fictional characters and the club scene is really hot. I wish we got a CG of when Mink pressed Aoba against the wall, and even the scene where Mink choaks Aoba is weak to me because we don't really see anything apart from Aoba in pain. I wanted to see Mink's cock and balls :(

We do get the sex scene in Mink's Re:connect bad ending which is really good, except for Aoba's yellow socks. His yellow socks were there for both of Mink's hottest scenes lmao. With Reconnect's good ending, oh my god. Mink turns so caring towards Aoba it's crazy and THE DRAMA CD OMGGGG this is where I truly lost my mind with them. I should talk about this later but MINK PROPOSES TO AOBA AT LEAST TWO TIMES. It's so cute. I hate it. The drama CD is something else, they're so domestic it's crazy.

I do think Nitro Chiral should have included Mink's Re:connect good ending in the first game because as it is, it is the only of the main four love interests whose good ending isn't really...good. Aoba leaves his family and friends and chases after the man who raped and abused him. No wonder some people were left disappointed. Still, with the Drama CD and other side stories, I think we have gotten more than enough content throughout the years to be satisfied with their relationship if you're a fan of them. (Of course I still want more but who isn't greedy for more content of their OTP)

MinAo in the anime

I watched the DMMD anime recently for the first time and man, what a mess. I almost regret not watching it when it released because I'm sure it was funny to see that trainwreck live but alas, I saved myself the pain. I ended up watching the English dub because I hate myself and I saw clips of how funny it was. I did like how it handled certain Mink related things, like the fact that although people recommend to play Mink's route after Noiz and to leave Clear for last, Mink is the last route in the anime.

The anime tries to give the five love interests equal focus, and maybe I'm biased, but I feel like there was a lot of focus on Mink, especially in the last episodes.

I say this because Koujaku, Noiz and Clear get sidelined after their respective dedicated episodes. Mink on the other hand gets two episodes dedicated to him.

You can basically skip episodes 7 to 9 and miss nothing because Koujakus, Noiz and Clears routes are condensed into those episodes and make no difference in the overall plot of the anime, which is Aoba going to Oval tower to defeat Toue and meet Sei. Theyre just side plots to show their backstories, and it very minimally shows Aoba what hes capable of (he scraps Koujaku and Noiz) but its overall just not as important.

Who actually moved the plot forward? Mink. its similar to the original game but its more noticeable in an anime that follows a new plot that has to incorporate all 5 love interests routes into it. Even the reason that Ren starts to malfunction is because of Mink.

In a way I think they felt that they were giving Mink to much screen time and were like "Ok, let's stop." Because seriously, they couldn't have had Mink kill Toue in the anime?

Mink's scrap scene was an intresting take that deviates from the game. Aoba sees Mink's past but some of the people in his tribe are people he knowns, which honestly was a weird decision and was probably confusing for someone who did not play the game. Mink is also the same age he in is canon. Aoba can't imagine Mink younger but he can imagine him looking this hot I guess.

The anime was a mess but I do appreciate the fact that Mink is the last route before Ren's and that he got two episodes dedicated to him. I don't really like how Mink looks in the anime but tbh everyone except Sei looks bad, but I did enjoy the scenes with them. (Also I thought Mink's english dub voice was hot). I plan to watch it again with the original Japanese voice acting someday. Hopefully I notice more MinAo related things to add here!

Aoba's Max Factory Figure

I own this figure as well as Aoba's nendoroid (someday I'll buy Mink's). I love this figure so much. I like how the white chains which reprent Mink are so eye catching and promiment compared to the representations of the other love interests. I think they could have easily made the chains smaller, but the fact that they didn't makes me so happy.

I absolutely adore Aoba's design after the good ending in Re:connect and the Drama CD. The feathers in his hair are so intimate and to have Aoba accept Mink's culture into his life is so beautiful.
